Our client is a highly respected professional services firm in Emerald with a 75 year reputation for excellence. They are seeking a collaborative Junior Bookkeeper to join their Business Services team, an ideal opportunity for someone who values a supportive environment where personal commitments and professional growth are equally respected.

The Role

As a Junior Bookkeeper, you will be the "engine room" of the Business Services team, ensuring both the firm and their clients stay organised and on track. In this role, you will:

  • Handle bank and credit card reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end tidy-ups
  • Prepare BAS/IAS, reconcile GST/PAYG, and assist with WorkCover and payroll tax lodgements
  • Help clients transition to modern cloud software (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and deliver basic training
  • Review client files to ensure they are ready for year-end compliance or audit
  • Liaise with the ATO and answer client queries to ensure everyone feels looked after

About You

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who brings care, curiosity, and a thoughtful approach to their work.

  • You are familiar with accounting tools like Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks and enjoy picking up new systems quickly
  • You ask great questions, communicate openly, and enjoy being part of a warm, collaborative team
  • You take pride in "behind the scenes" organisation and ensuring financial data is accurate and ethical
  • You naturally look for ways to help the team meet deadlines and keep things running smoothly

Why this role?

  • Competitive package of $75k–$85k (Inclusive of Super) for Full-Time, with pro-rata rates available for Part-Time
  • Genuine openness to a 4-day working week or adjusted start and finish times to suit your personal commitments
  • Enhanced leave benefits including options for bonus annual leave and purchased leave schemes
  • A modern, eco-friendly workspace with a "dress for your day" policy and a strong focus on health and well-being
  • Direct access to senior leaders and mentors within a firm established for over 75 years
